There is a tradition in the Wagner home. Setting around the table eating lunch after a day full of church, My Dad would ask each of us what we had learned that day. If I were with them today, I would tell my father about the importance of temples. At stake conference our dear Temple president and his wife spoke to us. They told a story of travelers passing through Rexburg on their way to Yellowstone stopping at the temple. A husband and wife from somewhere in Europe. They had seen the temple, beautiful, white and pure, and wanted to know what it was. They had stopped and entered hoping for a tour. Our dear president explained what temples are and the sacredness of them. He told them about the requirements to enter. Coming from Europe this couple was shocked that it was not open to the public like many of their own cathedrals. They were disappointed they would not be able to enter. President Wightmen  asked the wife what would happen to her and her husband if they were to die. She said that they would be separated. He then told her that this temple is on the earth to seal families together through the eternities. Husband and wife do not have to be separated when they die. The husband burst out, “It is not worth being baptized to tour the temple, but it would be worth it I can keep my wife forever!”
I love living so close to the Rexburg temple. As I drive to school each morning and pass the temple, I am reminded that if I keep my covenants, I can keep my family forever.
Today I realized just how scattered my loved ones are. It has become so hard to stay in contact with them. So this is a re-launch of my blog in attempts to stay connected friends and family.
This weekend was a tender trip down memory road. Around this time two years ago, Spencer proposed. He surprised me with a trip back to the special place, yesterday. Milkshakes in Ashton and a walk around Mesa Falls. It was fun to see everything again, and it seems like a lot of time has passed since we were last there. Spencer also surprised me with a book that he cut out to conceal a little gift.
